Day 1: Quito – Mindo
The Mindo – Nambillo Reserve is a protected forest with approximately 19,000 acres having many beauties, inside. This place is certainly a paradise for bird lovers, as the Mindo area is home to more than 400 species of birds, 60 different species of butterflies, and 170 species of orchids are also part of this reserve. Apart from this cloud forest, our excursion includes a visit to the orchid area and the butterfly farm, where you have, certainly, the best opportunities to take photos of dozens of hummingbirds, as they feed in front of you. Lunch in the region and overnight in Mindo.
Day 2 Mindo and Chocolate, great experience!
We will have an interesting experience trying local chocolate during a visit to the place, where it is made in an artisanal way. Here you can see the manufacturing process, and learn how it is made, from “Cacao”. The source of these family chocolate companies is from small farms outside Mindo, the best organic cocoa. Lunch in the area and return to Quito or continue to the next destinations.
